Spanish Rice

Ingredients

  • 1 box new orleans style spanish rice Zatarain’s new orleans style spanish rice (7.4 oz. box)
  • 10 oz Rotel original diced tomatoes and chiles 1-10 oz. can
  • 1 1/2 cups water
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 18 oz tomato sauce *can be added for a creamier tomato taste., optional
  • 1.5 lbs ground beef
  • 1/2 lb 4 cheese mexican optional

Instructions

  • In a 4 qt. Saucepan; combine water, butter, rice mix and 1 can of Rotel.
  • Stir and bring to a boil.
  • Stir, reduce heat, cover and simmer over low heat for 25 min. or until all water is absorbed.
  • While rice is cooking, in a large fry pan over med. high heat brown ground beef, drain.
  • Add back into fry pan.
  • When rice is done, remove from heat, let stand for 5 min. Fluff.
  • Stir rice into ground beef; add 1 can of tomato sauce, mix well.
  • Place into a casserole pan and add cheese to top.
  • Bake At 350* for 20 min. or until thoroughly heated.
  • *you Can also stir cheese into mix. And stuff peppers with it.
